In addition, the team will work in conjunction with Health Care Professionals to support and nurture patients in the community through our ‘in the home’ support program for patients discharged to the community care setting on a device supplied by TECHNOPATH. This service not alone offers significant and much welcomed support to these patients and their carers but also prevents rehospitalisations, which has significant benefits for the patients, their carer’s and the health care providers. Our Team:

Our nursing team members are very experienced and possess an in-depth knowledge of the enteral feeding area. The team works closely with healthcare professional colleagues to support and nurture patients who are using enteral feeding device.

Nursing Support for Enteral Feeding Patients

Successful Pathway to Patient Self-Care

Patients, within the Republic of Ireland, who receive their enteral feeding devices from TECHNOPATH are eligible for hospital or community referral to the service. Our team supports and educates enteral feeding patients (and/or their carer) in the correct care and successful management of their enteral feeding device at home, post insertion.

Once the referral has been made our experienced team of Nurse Advisors will schedule a series of home visits on a non-emergency basis.

The aim of this service is to “empower patients” to become self-caring at home while also avoiding unnecessary re-admissions to hospital.

Please note that this service is not applicable to patients who are using the naso-gastric feeding tubes.
