Linforoll® is a medical device the purpose of which is to show the physiotherapist the various parameters of the Manual Lymphatic Drainage required to make it “OBJECTIVE” and satisfy the Evidence Based Medicine criteria.

In the treatment of lymphoedema, the gold standard currently recognised at international level (the 2013 guidelines of the International Lymphology Society) is Complete Decongestive Therapy, which is made up of 4 elements:
  • Manual lymphatic drainage
  • Multi-layer short-stretch bandaging
  • Skin treatment
  • Physio-kinesiotherapy under bandage
The therapeutic efficacy of manual lymphatic drainage has been recognised, but one of its limits is that the manoeuvres are NOT measurable. Linforoll® shows the physiotherapist performing the lymphatic drainage:
  1. The area of the body to be treated (working area)
  2. The force applied (expressed as force, i.e. g/cm2, or as pressure i.e. mmHg) as its handpiece provides visual feedback (yellow LED: insufficient pressure green LED: correct pressure, red LED: excessive pressure)
  3. The number of passes to be performed in the work area
  4. The execution speed of the manoeuvre (correct speed: 3 cm/sec)
  5. The energy transferred to the patient (in joules)Indications

1. Lymphedema of limbs diagnosed by physician
2. Venous edema of calf without infiammatory and thrombotic changes qualifed by physician
3. Posttraumatic edema
4. Lipedema of limbs and hips

Contraindications
  1. Infiammation of tissues 
  2. Venous thrombosis
  3. Early posttraumatic tissue changes
  4. Painful regions diagnosed during rolling (notify physician)
