Inositol :
Numerous clinical studies highlight the positive effect of myo-Inositol supplementation on the quality of oocytes and on the health of women who desire a child.
Inositol, or more precisely myo-inositol, is a carbocyclic sugar which is abundant in the brain and other tissues in mammals; it mediates transduction (a process which consists of the transfer of genetic material) of the cellular signal in response to different hormones, neurotransmitters and growth factors and participates in osmoregulation.
Myo-inositol, at a dose of 4 g per day, three months before ovarian stimulation, is effective in normalizing ovarian function, improving the quality of oocytes and embryos in women with polycystic ovarian syndrome.
Studies show that inositol can be used safely and beneficial in type 2 diabetes and GDM (gestational diabetes mellitus).
