In 1984 Honeywell’s decision to manufacture their own commercial air cleaners provided AQE with the opportunity to develop our own worldwide commercial marketing organization. Simultaneously, we purchased Honeywell’s industrial air cleaner business and became an important competitor in the air cleaner market. At this time it was clear that a new and more comprehensive name would better reflect our broader product range and we became Air Quality Engineering in 1984.
